This fully winterized and "must be seen" cottage is located on the picturesque, quiet and clean Lac Heney; 12 minutes from the Mont Ste Marie golfing and ski hills and 1 hour and a mere 3 driving turns from Ottawa.
Lac Heney is one of the 4 largest lakes in the Gatineau being 7 miles long and up to a mile wide. It is renowned for its beauty, swimming, boating and fishing.
This rental cottage and and a second cottage stand within a private and gated 4 acre lake-level peninsula with over 1,000 feet of shoreline. The rental cottage is 30 feet from the sandy beach and overlooks both the lake and an acre of pine, spruce and birch decorated lawns, with a trailed forest to the side. This pine clad cottage has been caringly and fully renovated with the objectives of both preserving a traditional rustic character, but also including all modern conveniences.
Rooms on both floors are created with either western cedar walls or cedar wainscoting, whilst leather couches and chairs add to the comfort and atmosphere, with a spiral staircase connecting the two stories. Open views of the lake, forest or lawns are a feature of most of the rooms. Heat is provided by thermostatically controlled electric heaters and supplemented by an airtight fireplace with glass doors. Air conditioning for the top floor can be provided in the summer if desired.
The tap water is both safe and filtered and not only just drinkable, but in fact much nicer than city water. Each of the three roomy bedrooms have queen size beds with one having a twin bed as well. Duvets, towels and linens are provided. Bathrooms with showers are located on each floor with one having a bath. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge and counter top stove, convection microwave oven, toaster oven and dishwasher. A barbeque sits on the rear deck for all seasons use.
The living room has a 5 speaker and sub-woofer home theatre system with a 42" flat panel Hi-Res screen. A DVD/CD/MP3 player and a media player/server - with approx. 3,000 movies, 1,000 TV Series, 300 Video Concerts and 6,000 music tracks - are plugged in and ready to go and updated weekly and with requests. Cell phone coverage is supplemented with a telephone line and cordless phones with voicemail. Wireless hi-speed internet (up to 100 mbps) is accessible throughout. For added convenience a front loading washer and dryer is provided. Electricity is included in the summer and snow clearing and electricity are extras in the winter.
Summer's activities include swimming and snorkeling from the sandy beach or in the deep water off the shoreline and dock. Two kayaks are waiting to be exercised and the fishing is excellent. On land in the grassed area, volleyball, badminton, croquet, Frisbee throwing and horseshoes are all at hand. The "jumping rocks" and several islands for exploring and camping are big local attractions on the lake and of course all other summer sports apply.
Winter activities include cross-country skiing, skating, snow-shoeing and walking on both the lake and plentiful trails. Extensive ski doo and ATV explorations abound.

The cottage is available for rental for $8,600 per month plus 1 day in the warmer months. It is also available as seasonal rentals: for the Summer Season from June 15th to September 15th for $24,000 plus Cleaning OR for the Winter Season from Dec 1st to March 31st for $8,400 plus Cleaning, Hydro, Snow Clearing and Wood.
